The City of Sanctuary website is maintained largely by volunteers for the purpose of promoting and supporting local City of Sanctuary movements across the UK.
The articles and comments published on this website do not necessarily express the views of City of Sanctuary.
Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately using our Contact page. We will remove objectionable messages and take action against their author, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that this is necessary.
You agree, through your use of this website, that you will not use it to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
You agree to submit your email address to us, in order to register with and use our website. You may choose to sign up to receive automated notices from the website, including email newsletters, RSS feeds, and group update notifications. Furthermore, the website will email you with important information about your account, or to remind you of your password. You understand that City of Sanctuary will not use your email address for any other purpose, or share your email address with any third party.
You agree, by logging in to this website, that you will not knowingly subvert the functionality of the website system. This includes any action that manipulates the underlying software application or other technologies in order to interrupt the service, access information or otherwise derive results that are not part of the intended purpose of this website. Rules of Discussion and Comments Use
When posting comments or taking part in discussions on the City of Sanctuary website, you must follow these simple rules to keep the discussions safe and friendly for all users. By logging in or by posting comments or content to the City of Sanctuary website, you are agreeing that you understand and will comply with the following rules:
Always avoid:
- Ad Hominem arguments - that is arguments which attack a person in order to discredit what they have said.
- Insulting, threatening, annoying or provoking another person.
- Being hateful towards a specific group of people. These discussions are open to people from all backgrounds.
- Swearing, using hate-speech, or making obscene or vulgar comments.
- Breaking the law. This includes breach of copyright, defamation, condoning or promoting illegal activity and contempt of court (by making posts that could affect the outcome of an impending court action).
- Spamming (posting the same comment multiple times).
- Advertising commercial interests.
- Impersonating or falsely claiming to represent a person or organisation.
Moderators regularly check the comments and content posted on the City of Sanctuary website, and details of your IP address are logged. If you break the rules, Moderators have the right to remove part or all of your post without warning. If you repeatedly break the rules, you may be permanently prevented from registering, logging in and/or posting, or even accessing the website.
