We are seeking statements of support from community groups and organisations across Sheffield for our goal of being a place of welcome and safety for people in need of sanctuary. Could your group or organisation pass a resolution such as this?
"[Your organisation] recognises the contribution of asylum-seekers and refugees to the City of Sheffield, and is committed to welcoming and including them in our activities. We support Sheffield being a recognised ‘City of Sanctuary’ for refugees and asylum-seekers."
We also ask supporting organisations to decide on a practical action they can take to make their activities more inclusive of people seeking sanctuary. See here for some ideas.
