Oxford to host a screening of Moving to Mars: A Million Miles from Burma

Moving to Mars
Oxford City of Sanctuary, with support from the Lord Mayor of Oxford and Coded Pictures, will host a gala screening of Moving to Mars: A Million Miles from Burma, on Monday 1 March at the Ultimate Picture Palace on Cowley Road.

The film, which was directed by Oxford’s own Mat Whitecross, tells the story of two refugee families from Burma, who leave their homes in a Thai refugee camp to seek sanctuary and a new life in the UK.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the Director, Producer, one of the film’s stars and one of the founders of the City of Sanctuary movement, Craig Barnett.

If you or your organisation would like to attend the screening, please RSVP to oxfordevents@cityofsanctuary.org or contact Kate Clayton-Hathway for more information on 01865 751 747.

Oxford has been working towards City of Sanctuary status since 2008. We hope that this event will be an opportunity for interested organisations and individuals to meet one another and find out more about the City of Sanctuary movement in the UK and what it would mean for Oxford to become a City of Sanctuary.
