I've added a couple of things to the 'resources' section of the website (www.cityofsanctuary.org/resources) which some of you may find helpful:

An outline of a poster (in Word) to adapt for publicising events, and

A simple constitution document.

If anyone has produced anything better in the way of posters, leaflets etc please let me have a copy, or if you know any friendly designers who might like to do us some better-looking publicity materials cheaply (or free).

Funding

Grassroots Grants is a new government funding stream for local organisations, administered through local Community Foundations. See the website link for your local funder.

Transition Towns

This is a national movement to build local community resilience to climate change and energy shortages (also featured in the Archers at the moment). One element of the Transition Towns movement is setting up opportunities for people to be 're-skilled', especially in traditional craft skills such as growing food, carpentry, tailoring, etc. In Sheffield we are hoping to work with the Transition Town group to involve refugees and asylum-seekers in sharing their skills. If there is a Transition initiative in your area it may be worthwhile forming links with them. See their website for more details.
