We have recently formed a working group of City of Sanctuary volunteers to develop some community projects to build bridges between local people and asylum-seekers in Sheffield neighbourhoods.

As a first stage we are working with groups and individuals in the Manor area. At our first local meeting in May we met with Abi Smetham at St. Aidan's and several members of the congregation and discussed how people seeking sanctuary locally could become involved in the Church's activities, including lunch clubs and holiday weeks and share stories of their experiences as well as after school activities with local schools .
